I don’t know just how “horror” this is going to be, but it does have to do with resurrection and out of body experiences, and it’s a love story, which is just terrifying in the first place, so stick with me. The flick is called Silver Cord, and it’s set to be the directorial debut of James Ordonez.
Variety announced this morning that Silver Cord has signed Val Kilmer, Shane West (What We Do is Secret, The Lodger), Areielle Kebbel (Freakdog, The Grudge 2), Cam Gigandet (The Unborn) and Eric Balfour(The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) to star in the film. The story follows a man who is separated from the love of his life and has numerous out of body experiences to try to find her. One time something goes wrong, the titular spiritual cord is severed, and his friends realize they have 24 hours to save him before he is dead.

Here's an interesting new film that had me digging for more info on Google. Handpicked Films and Tayrona Entertainment have signed Shane West, Cam Gigandet, Val Kilmer, Arielle Kebbel and Eric Balfour to star in James Ordonez's Silver Cord, which was written by Ordonez and Ken Gord. The synopsis given was that the story centers on Ordonez's brother who came back to life after being declared clinically dead on multiple occasions. The brother died in 2004. But we needed to know more, and apparently the film heads in a totally different direction, read on for the full synopsis. The indie feature's aiming at a September start and has obtained a SAG waiver.

Hollywood star Robert De Niro has reportedly pulled out of forthcoming film New Orleans - only to be replaced by his Heat co-star Val Kilmer.
De Niro was due to team up with rapper/actor 50 Cent in the Charles Winkler-directed movie, about a police officer who uncovers a trail of deceit and corruption in the police force as he searches for the killer of his former partner.
According to Kilmer's official website, he will be taking on the role of "a burly rough but loyal cop. 50 is my partner..."
It is not yet clear whether De Niro is still attached to the project, reports Moviehole.net.
New Orleans, also known as Microwave Park, would have been De Niro's second movie with 50 Cent - the pair has just finished filming the upcoming crime drama Righteous Kill.
