With the tale of Shrek coming to its end, it was to be expected that it wouldn’t be long before Dreamworks decided to try their luck using the method of retelling known stories, but with a different set of characters.
2012 will see the studio’s release of The Guardians, which portrays Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost as a squad of superheroes who have to band together to fight an evil spirit. The film goes hand in hand with an upcoming book series called The Guardians of Childhood, so it seems like a fair presumption that the evil spirit in the movie will in some way be trying to hurt childhood.
The first actor to sign on to the film was Leonardo DiCaprio, who’ll be voicing the part of Jack Frost. This is DiCaprio’s first animated role, and a pretty stark »

Despite having a slew of connections to the comic book world — including producer roles on "Ninja Scroll" and "Akira," plus a once-rumored connection to "Button Man" — Leonardo DiCaprio has kept his hands clean of superhero fare... until now, that is.
According to Dreamworks, DiCaprio is set to lend his voice talent to "The Guardians," a new animated project from DreamWorks Animation. DiCaprio will play the legendary Jack Frost, who bands together with a group of other famous storybook heroes to fight an evil spirit named Pitch.
The group of heroes in "The Guardians" consists of the aforementioned Jack Frost, as well as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman. But beyond their status as folklore icons, the Guardians are also "a band of superheroes, who possess their own special powers."

Leonardo DiCaprio is starring in his first animated film, a DreamWorks Animation production titled The Guardians (formerly the Guardians of Childhood and still a working title).
An adaptation of an upcoming book series by William Joyce, the film uses familiar fairytale characters as heroes that must stop an evil force from plunging the world into darkness. DiCaprio will lend his voice to Jack Frost.
The press release includes five more parts to fill, which include North (Santa), Bunnymund (the Easter Bunny), Tooth (the Tooth Fairy), and Sandy (the Sandman). The fivesome will battle Pitch (the Boogeyman) for control of the world.
Wikipedia listed actors in connection with these roles, like Natalie Portman and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, but the rumors of their involvement have been denied by the studio as pure fantasy. “We have yet to cast/announce the other roles at this time,” a DreamWorks representative told me.

Leonardo DiCaprio is taking a break from starring in Martin Scorsese movies to voice a character in animation feature The Guardians. The film will be an adaptation of an upcoming novel series titles The Guardians Of Childhood by William Joyce.
It has a brilliant premise that will see Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and Jack Frost join forces to fight an evil spirit called Pitch. Pitch has come up with a diabolical scheme to take over the world by scaring children everywhere. DiCaprio has signed on as Jack Frost and with so many great characters this should attract a huge roster of talent.
The Dreamworks production sees Peter Ramsey on directing duties with the first book arriving in 2011. This should ensure a release around late 2012. Writer William Joyce is involved closely with this, so expect something special.

Tom Hardy's career certainly isn't getting banged up, but the British actor sure is. Hardy talked to MTV from the set of Inception, Christopher Nolan's upcoming thriller that no one will discuss, where he admitted he often brawls in between takes with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
He's a big Mma fan, so we've been kicking each other. Kicking and elbowing each other. He keeps bruising me. He gives me as good as he gets.
Hardy's work in front of the camera doesn't sound much better considering the scene he was currently working on involved him "being plummeted through a floor." Before Inception, Hardy was working on the mixed martial arts drama Warrior, where he suffered a broken toe, torn ligaments, and cracked ribs. In comparison, Hardy seems quite happy sparring with DiCaprio.
I was in shellshock because I'd been pretty badly beaten up on [Warrior]. It was like [Christopher Nolan] swept me »

Rumor that Lindsay was caught in an intimate moment with Cash was first sparked by Us Magazine. The publication reported that the film producer had been seen partying together with the 23-year-old beauty at West Hollywood hotspot Villa on November 19.
It was said that after talking to each other for about an hour, the twosome reportedly "started making out". An onlooker said, "Lip on tongue. It was raw. They were not shy!" Another onlooker chimed in, "It was a shock to see the two of them kiss, but it was real."
