It has now been over four years since the adaptation of the hit video game "American McGee's Alice" - simply known as Alice - was announced. The project has gone through many hands including the infamous Wes Craven and has listed Sarah Michelle Gellar as the star, which she still claims she'd love to do. Every single time it looks like the film might get off the ground, it comes to a screeching halt. Now Scott Faye, the producer of "Max Payne" and the upcoming adaptation, talked with the official American McGee blog about the status of the project. Check out the details inside.

Blu-ray.com reports that First Look Studios is kicking off a new series of low-priced Blu-rays with the October debut of Wes Craven's The Breed, which is priced at a new company-low of only $19.98 (considerably cheaper than First Look's usual $39.98 Msrp). The animal attack movie will debut on Blu-ray October 21. The film tells of two brothers, one a highly athletic daredevil and the other a much more serious and sensitive type, who in the midst of trying to patch up their wonky relationship - on a getaway at their Uncle's house - are forced to flee a pack of vicious killer dogs - the titular 'Breed'.

The star of Wes Craven's latest horror jaunt, Max Thieriot, spoke recently with Styd, where he cleared up what first appeared to be a very muddled plot of the upcoming 25/8.
Max revealed that Wes Craven may be reaching back to his Elm Street days, "It's a little bit like Freddy Krueger-ish, but it's more like a thriller than horror. I feel Nightmare on Elm Street is cool because it's very smart. It's not just killing. It has a whole back story and this craziness going on, and I think 25/8 has that, too.
It's basically about this kid and his life, and when he's born, his dad was a serial killer who had multiple personalities, and basically, as people start dying in the movie, I start getting multiple personalities, too, because I inherited it from my dad. It's kind of like this crazy plot, but the whole time people are

B-d reader 'Marc' just sent us a link to two behind-the-scenes videos from the set of Wes Craven's 25/8, which is now filming in Connecticut. One video depicts an ambulance exploding, while the other shows it crashing. Both videos can be found beyond the break. As legend has it, a notorious serial slayer will return to the sleepy community of Riverdale to finish off the seven children born on the night he purportedly died. But is the slayer really dead, or is he still at large? Or has the mysterious evil personality that once impelled his bloody spree entered the body of an unwary teen, who will now be compelled to do his evil bidding?

Jumper star Max Thierot is to replace Dennis Hopper's son Henry Lee in Wes Craven's new horror movie 25/8 - after the 17-year-old dropped out due to illness.
Henry Lee Hopper was set to make his big screen debut in the legendary director's next project but was forced to withdraw from the film after contracting mononucleosis - an infectious throat disease more commonly known as glandular fever.
Craven reportedly attempted to delay filming to give Hopper time to recover, but feared that if it was rescheduled, the project would fall prey to a possible actor's strike later this year.
Thierot, who starred alongside Hayden Christensen in this year's sci-fi thriller Jumper, has now been cast in Hopper's place and will start shooting in Connecticut this month.
And although Hopper is disappointed to have lost his part in the film, he's convinced Thierot will do a good job.
He says, "Wes said he was thinking about pushing the film back but couldn't because of the possible actors strike. I saw (Thierot's) audition, and he's a talented guy, really flexible, which fulfills the needs of the role."

Tony Goldwyn (Dexter, Kiss the Girls) and Monica Potter (Saw) will star in Rogue Pictures' Last House on the Left. Dennis Iliadis is on board to direct the remake of Wes Craven's seminal horror film about escaped convicts who take two teenage girls hostage and then take refuge in one of the girl's home after leaving her for dead. Mark Haslett, Carl Ellsworth and Adam Alleca penned the screenplay. Wes Craven is producing alongside Marianne Maddalena and Sean Cunningham. Shooting is scheduled to begin this month in South Africa (odd choice).
