Can two former collaborators once again create the movie magic where a film builds to a point of having Brad Pitt cry, “What’s in the box?! What’s in the fucking box?!” I think “Seven” is a highly entertaining film but what will director David Fincher and screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker create 15 years later? It looks like we’re going to find out. The two have re-teamed to adapt the supernatural thriller “The Reincarnation of Peter Proud”. Hit the jump for more details.
According to Heat Vision, David Fincher is attached to direct the new adaptation of the Max Ehrlich novel, “The Reincarnation of Peter Proud” which will be penned by Andrew Kevin Walker. Fincher will produce with Michael De Luca. De Luca is also part of the reunion as he was the president of production over at New Line when Fincher and Walker made “Seven”.

Watchmen—The Ultimate Cut (Warner Bros.) Director Zack Snyder’s film of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ landmark graphic novel is as worthy an adaptation of a great book that has ever been filmed. In an alternative version of the year 1985, Richard Nixon is serving his third term as President and super heroes have been outlawed by a congressional act, in spite of the fact that two of the most high-profile “masks,” Dr. Manhattan (Billy Cruddup) and The Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) helped the U.S. win the Vietnam War. When The Comedian is found murdered, many former heroes become concerned that a conspiracy is afoot to assassinate retired costumed crime fighters. Former masks Nite Owl (Patrick Wilson), Silk Spectre (Malin Akerman) and still-operating Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley, in an Oscar-worthy turn) launch an investigation of their own, all while the Pentagon’s “Doomsday »

When this writer first met Robert Pattinson, he was a relatively obscure British actor who'd received a tiny bit of notoriety from appearing in a "Harry Potter" flick. It was April, 2008 and as we talked on the set of this tiny flick titled "Twilight" during a night shoot in the middle of a small Oregon town, he considered a scenario where he might not continue acting. Perhaps he'd focus on the music side of career, perhaps not. Needless to say, what a difference a year and a half makes. Arguably up there with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as one... »

There are many theories, ideas or should I say 'schools of thought' on how the world would end. At the height of the Cold War, nuclear annihilation ranks at the very top. While others argue it will not be man who will destroy the world (directly) but - an epidemic of global proportions (most probably from a potent strain of virus - think: I am Legend) or severe climactic change (another ice age perhaps? That would be Day After Tommorow right?) or mechanical uprising (The Terminator, anyone?) or even attack from the outside - conquering aliens (Mars Attacks!) or perhaps an asteroid. And let's not forget zombies!

In March 2006 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences sprung one of its annual surprises by awarding the best picture Oscar to Crash, rather than Ang Lee’s acclaimed gay cowboy drama, Brokeback Mountain. At the time it looked as though racism and multiple vehicular pile-ups had trumped homosexuality in the battle of the “hot button” issue movies. But perhaps the Academy was belatedly acknowledging the kind of ambitious, densely plotted, multi-character dramas made famous by the great Robert Altman. From 1975’s Nashville, to Short Cuts, Prêt à Porter and his 2006 swansong A Prairie Home Companion, Altman allowed audiences to immerse themselves in the cinematic equivalent of a book of short stories. Writer Alissa Quart has characterised these films with multiple intersecting plotlines as “hyperlink movies”, in which, “information, character, and action co-exist without hierarchy”. Now I’m a fan of Altman and I loved Paul Thomas Anderson’s, »

Lady Gaga’s single Paparazzi has been tearing up the airwaves since its debut this past summer. The song, from the pop sensation’s debut album The Fame, has a melodic beat that fans all over the world are humming to. Yet, not everybody is so enthralled by the song’s lyrics.
“Frankly, I’m pretty pissed off,” says freelance photographer Chaz Memberton. “You know, being a paparazzi isn’t easy. It’s [expletive] hard work and I reject anybody saying it’s easy or that anybody can do it. Have you heard her lyrics? She suggests that some of her weird-ass fans that are taking her pictures are like paparazzi. That’s nonsense.”
The song has been a critical success for Lady Gaga as it peaked at No.6 on Billboard’s Top 40 in the U.S.. It has been hailed as one of the best songs on her album and »

Actress Robin Wright Penn moved her family out of Hollywood after witnessing Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daily struggle with photographers.
The Forrest Gump star, who filed for divorce from Sean Penn in August, packed up their home because she didn't want her two children growing up in a "weird" community obsessed with celebrity.
She says, "I didn't want to raise my kids in this weird, sycophantic society. If you have celebrity parents, it's not a good recipe for the kids, or anyone at any age. Look at what Brad and Angelina go through." »

Sony's thriller The Tourist just keeps sending its talent packing. Originally set to be a vehicle for Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron, it shifted gears last month and was re-cast with Angelina Jolie and Sam Worthington. But once again, The Tourist finds itself without travel arrangements for a male lead as Variety reports that Worthington is out due to "creative disagreements" and Johnny Depp is in.
Depp is still in talks to play the hapless American tourist, and with the way this film is going, one can't assume it's finalized. But if it is, it might just be the casting coup of 2010. A Depp-Jolie pair-up has been something dreamed about by a lot of producers and studios over the years. Once upon a time, rumor even had them attached to play Cathy and Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights. People want to see them having onscreen sex. It'd be the hottest thing since ... well, »

When you're Brad Pitt, Halloween can be 365 days a year, if you want it to be. And it looks like the star is taking full advantage. Pitt, 45, was spotted in in Japan still wearing the metallic beads that adorned his billy-goat beard on Halloween night, when he went trick-or-treating with his kids while dressed as DJ Lance Rock from the surreal kids show, Yo Gabba Gabba. But the real DJ Lance Rock is clean-shaven, leaving observers a little confused as to whether the beads were part of Pitt's holiday outfit, a permanent fashion statement, or a remnant from a previous »

Stop the international presses! Brad Pitt is kinda maybe sorta interested in buying himself another motorcycle. This is the breaking news flash out of Tokyo this morning, where the Beautiful Bearded One is currently making the promotional rounds for Inglourious Basterds, which is finally opening in Japan. "I had a little mishap," he explained when asked about his pavement-pounding, paparazzi-captured bike topple last week. "No injuries, except my ego. I was trying to get away from some paparazzi and instead gave them a good story." Actually, Brad, "good" may be overselling it a bit, but we'll assume that after three months on the publicity trail, any new talking point... »
