From MTV.Com: Dating all the way back to names like Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Fatty Arbuckle, Shirley Temple and the Little Rascals, it seems like young overnight Hollywood sensations have been around for as long as Edward Cullen has been a vampire. Some have navigated the choppy waters of fame and gone on to great careers (Jodie Foster, Johnny Depp), while others (Jan-Michael Vincent, Lindsay Lohan) haven't been so lucky.
In the past year, names like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have been splashed across supermarket tabloids, "hot" lists and paparazzi-stalking itineraries. But when we recently caught up with Stewart to discuss the stars' upcoming return in "New Moon," she insisted that A-level fame isn't really as bad as it's sometimes made out to be.

A clutch of new films will cement Matt Damon's reputation as the hit of his generation. But that won't change this most reserved and politically committed of actors. Vanessa Thorpe reports
Runners taking part in the annual Miami Triathlon this time last year were surprised to spot a familiar face crossing the finishing line. It looked very like Jason Bourne, the implacable, brain-washed hitman, who was coming in with a time of just under an hour for the 6.2 mile leg. In fact Matt Damon, who plays Bourne in the trio of hit films based on Robert Ludlum's character, was competing in an effort to lose some weight. He had gained 30lbs that summer to play the part of the chubby, delusional executive at the centre of The Informant!, Steven Soderbergh's new film.
Its recent premiere in America may well prove the high-water mark of an already illustrious career. »

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is receiving a lot of biting criticism from reviewers. Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times calls it "a mess." Kyle Smith in the New York Post dismisses it as an "inept fantasy." (The headline of his review reads: “Fangs for Nothing: ‘Freak’ Show Sucks.”) Most note that it's aimed at teen boys, and Desson Thomas in the Washington Post advises: "If serious, hard-core vampire movies for adults are the equivalent of spicy bloody marys, think of Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant as a watered-down Shirley Temple. Glug it down and, after the sugar rush, little sense of fulfillment filters through your system." And Roger Moore in the Orlando Sentinel can’t really get worked up one way or another over the film. Unlike Twilight, which, he says, “vamps down Romance Novel Road,” Cirque du Freak amounts to “a lark and in this case, the laughs are intentional. The movie's big drawback is that it isn't silly enough.” »

The fairytale of a princess with a wicked stepmother jealous of her beauty, Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs was Walt Disney’s first full-length feature and the world’s first animated feature-length film. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs hasn’t been available since 2001 and this version won’t last long before it goes back into the Disney Vault. My full review is after the jump.
“The one… That started it all… More beautiful… More enchanting… More entertaining.. Now for the first time ever… in high definition… The fairest one of all!”
Though some have never seen the movie, almost everyone knows the story. Raised by a wicked and vain Queen, beautiful Snow White is taken into the forest to be murdered by the Huntsman. However, his conscious gets the better of him and he can’t come to commit the horrible deed. He sends her off and so »

Katy Perry certainly has been riding the success of her album One of the Boys. The LP has spawned several catchy singles like "I Kissed a Girl" and "Waking up in Vegas" and several Vma nominations, as well as worldwide acclaim for the singer, but now her fans are itching to get their hands on new music from the raven-hair pop star.
Well, good news for those fans: Perry is ready to get back to work. She's even feeling inspired by some of her newest collaborators for her next project, likening her new vibe to that of fellow Vma-nominated band 3Oh!3.

Last night, Lisa brought NeNe home to Inglewood to meet her family. NeNe didn't expect to see so many Asian folks, and immediately removed her 10 inch heels. Her shock over Lisa's Chinese side of the family got a little silly, as she kept tugging on her friend's sleeve and asking her if she actually spoke their language and insisting that Lisa was black at heart. I'm going to give NeNe a pass though because she is actually quite sweet with old people and didn't blink an eye when it turned out that Lisa's parents are in fact adorable finger puppets. And props to NeNe for realizing that she had no place at Lisa's brother's graveside. After much hand-wringing, Lisa accompanied her family to visit her brother's resting place for the first time since his death three years ago. My stomach lurched when the scene began: There the family was, marching up the hill, »

Call them "cult classics." "Guilty pleasures." "Comfort movies." We all have a mental rolodex of flicks that aren't terribly popular but, for one reason or another, they resonate in a very special way. Maybe you saw it at the right moment. Maybe you just see gold where everyone else sees feces. Whatever the case, these are the special favorites that you keep stashed away for sick days. Here are some of ours.
Get ready for "Sick Day Stash" to take on a whole new meaning. Decades before Robert Altman's "Mash," more than half a century ahead of Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids" and more than 75 years before "Kid Nation," one short Shirley Temple comedy thumbed its nose at the violent front lines of World War I, leaving a bizarre relic from its time that wedged child actors into hilariously unsettling adult roles.

Singer sports black corset, tight leggings in pictures featured in Complex magazine.

Katy Perry graces the cover of the latest Complex magazine, and inside the pop rocker ditches her trademark bright attire — you know, the whole fruit thing — for a much racier, sexier look.
"It's a bit of a darker side of me, a little S&M," Perry told the mag for their June/July issue. "Though I did have to hang from a cage, which could have easily gone wrong with the 5-inch heels I was wearing."
The nine-photo spread features Perry not only caged, but sporting a revealing black corset, skintight leggings and impossibly high heels. The look may be a move to match the "I Kissed a Girl" siren's new musical direction. Perry told the magazine that her debut, »

Shirley Temple was the biggest box-office star during the Great Depression, tap-dancing, pouting and mugging through a staggering number of films and shorts -- IMdB has 11 listings for the curly-headed moppet in 1933 alone. One can only imagine that Dakota Fanning's agents wish they could have worked her that hard, too. Damn these modern child labor laws!
But like most kid stars, Temple worked less as she got older. She was still doing roughly a picture a year during her teen years, but for a star of her caliber under studio contract, she might as well not have been working at all. Temple retired in 1949 at the age of 21 (the same year that she divorced actor John Agar, whom she married when she was 16) and went on to an impressive career in public service.
But what if she had continued acting? For a glimpse of what might have been, check »

Katy Perry debuts a music video for her single "Waking Up in Vegas", which is taken from her 2008 studio album entitled "One of the Boys". In the video, Katy and her beau, who is portrayed by Joel David Moore, win almost all the games in a club in Las Vegas. The twosome previously was credited as "hungover and broke" persons.
"Waking Up in Vegas" music video was directed by Joseph Kahn. The song itself was written by Katy Perry, Desmond Child, and Andreas Carlsson. Soon after releasing her new music video, Katy says she is hoping to bring more mature music for her next album. "I definitely want to make a follow-up pop, fun record. I'm not looking to alienate my fans, but I can't be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair all the time ... because I'd kill myself or someone else would for me, »

Katy Perry has premiered a music video to promote her single called "Waking Up in Vegas". In the Joseph Kahn-directed video, she and her boyfriend played by Joel David Moore win almost all games in one of the Las Vegas' clubs after previously captured as two "hungover and broke" persons.
"Waking Up in Vegas" is a song penned by Katy Perry, Desmond Child and Andreas Carlsson. The track is lifted from Katy's 2008 studio album "One of the Boys" and is expected to be released as the next single after "Thinking of You".
Elsewhere, Katy Perry says she will come out with more mature music for her next album. "I definitely want to make a follow-up pop, fun record. The director of Hannah Montana: The Movie has suggested that Miley Cyrus is just as talented as screen legends Judy Garland and Shirley Temple. Speaking to E! News, Peter Chelsom admitted that he was not aware of the teenager before starting work on the film, but was "blown away" after watching her perform on a TV show. "I just thought, you know there is no way this girl shouldn't be ranked with Shirley Temple or Judy Garland," he explained. Chelson added that he was further impressed after catching the 16-year-old in concert, saying: "I (more) »

Hannah Montana: The Movie director Peter Chelsom has compared Miley Cyrus to screen legend Judy Garland - insisting he was "blown away" the first time he saw the teen superstar.
The filmmaker is at the helm of Cyrus' first movie gig in the role of phenomenally popular kids' show heroine Hannah Montana.
And Chelsom admits he saw the 16-year-old's potential long before they worked together - recalling an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talkshow which left him speechless.
He tells E! Online, "I was blown away. I just thought, you know there is no way this girl shouldn't be ranked with Shirley Temple or Judy Garland.
"I couldn't believe it. It was like watching an evening with Barbra Streisand."
And the filmmaker is adamant that Cyrus deserves to have her talent recognised - because she has reached such a high standard at such a young age.
He adds, "She was 15 for the whole making of the movie…Was Barbra doing that at 15? I don't think so."
Hannah Montana: The Movie hits theatres in the U.S. in April. »
