Biography for
Aquaman (Character)
from "Super Friends" (1973)

Aquaman is Arthur Curry.

He is a man from Atlantis who was found out washed ashore as a baby by a lighthouse keeper. He raised him as his son and taught him to use his powers to fight crime as Aquaman.

He has super-strength, super-speed, can breathe underwater, control all sea animals and communicate with them.

He is a member of the superhero group the Justice League.

His left hand was eaten by a rabid piranha, so he replaced it with a hook.

In SMALLVILLE Aquaman, aka Arthur Curry is simply called AC for short. He is studying marine biology at the University of Miami when he comes to Smallville to "see the lake". When Lois tries to do a back flip off a diving dock at the lake, she hits her head and falls in the water unconscious. Clark rushes to save her but once underwater he is outrun by Arthur who comes off as being the hero instead.

It does not take long for Lois to develope romantic feelings for AC, the two share a similar sarcastic humor and play off each other very well. But tensions arise when Clark follows AC back to the lake, where the two enter a cave which houses a secret lab, and sees AC set a bomb charge on some equipment. Clark grabs the bomb and shields it, thus revealing his powers to AC. The two thus think of each other as enemies and an intense underwater battle ensues in which AC eventually launches Clark out of the lake by means of conjuring a water "hurricane".

When Clark later learns that AC is trying to destroy a Luthercorp weapon, known as Leviathan, which not only sinks enemy ships but kills all marine life in a 3km range the two combine their efforts and thwart Lex's demonstration for the Navy.
