- The Alma Awards are the successor to the NCLR Bravo Awards.
- The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) was founded in 1968 to improve life opportunities for Hispanic Americans and represents over 280 local affiliates, community-based organizations that provide housing, education, immigration, and social services to more than four million Latinos annually in 37 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico and a broader network of more than 30,000 groups and individuals.
