THE LION KING (Buena Vista Home Entertainment) This animated spectacle joins the pantheon of Disney classics such as Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast as one of the studio's most timeless features.
Disney's two-disc special "Platinum Edition" of The Lion King is just as much for adults as for children.
A song from the Broadway adaptation of the film, "The Morning Report," has been added to the movie, the color has been digitally remastered and the sound will make you think you are in the middle of the savannah.
And if you're a purist, the original theatrical version of the movie also is included.
The discs abound with bonus materials; hours of it, including various featurettes on the laborious process that carries the film from conception to reality as well as its transformation into a Broadway musical.
Music videos, games and virtual theme park rides are all part of this colorful package.
You can't go wrong with The Lion King. It is as magnificent on the home screen as it was in the movie house.
