THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY (1998) Starring Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, Ben Stiller, Lee Evans and Chris Elliott. Music by Jonathan Richman. Story by Ed Decter & John J. Strauss. Screenplay by Ed Decter & John J. Strauss and Peter Farrelly & Bobby Farrelly. Directed by Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly. Rated R.

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY (Fox Home Entertainment) Peter and Bobby Farrelly's There's Something About Mary pushed the limits of bad taste with its zipper and hair gel scenes.

Now Fox Home Entertainment has released a two-disc special edition of this outrageous comedy featuring 15 minutes of restored footage, two commentary tracks, one by the Farrellys, the other by writers Ed Decter and John J. Strauss, and enough extras to satisfy - or disgust - any fan of the film.

Beside cast interviews, the second disc offers such featurettes as "Behind the Zipper," which is about, well, you can probably figure that one out yourself. Another sequence highlights the famous battle between Puffy the dog and Ben Stiller.

The special edition is lots of fun, offering the film in its original theatrical release as well as the expanded version.

And the extras maintain the zany comic mood of the film, with several behind-the-scenes looks at how some of the funny moments were not scripted, but created while shooting. For fans of the Farrelly brothers, this DVD should be a most enjoyable and raunchy experience.
